human hair extensions with synthetic add ons

Cant decide whether to get permanent human hair extensions or synthetic dreads? why not try a mixture of both. This has been one of the most popular options recently as you get a permanent base layer of natural looking dreads decorated with different textures, braids and colours of synthetics.

The synthetics come as double ended and are worn one of 2 ways, either by placing through the root of a natural dread. or creating a loop on the syth so you can slip a natural dread through it. This way the synths can be taken in and out as you please and will add alot of volume and texture for those crazy nights out, festivals or for the long term.

The most popular combos at the moment are 10-20 dreads with human hair extensions with 10ish synthetic dreads. As the synthetics are double ended you end up with 20 ends which gives it volume whilst having loose hair ontop to play with

frequently asked questions

how do i choose colours for the natural extensions?

First choose what colour you want for your natural dreadlock extensions. It looks best when the top of the extension is the same colour as your hair. This gives a seamless appearance where you wont beable to tell where the extension starts. if you want a lighter colour choose an ombre or balyage colour

how long are they?

Human hair extensions (natural dreads) use an 18inch weft. long wispy ends will stay this length, short wispy tips will be around 15inches. Shorter or longer is available on request.

Synthetics are around 26 inches as they are placed at the root so need to be longer. ends are left loose if they need to be cut to size.

should i get wispy or blunted tips?

For the Combo look wispy ends look best, you can choose whether you want long wispy or short wispy.

Keeping the ends wispy also allows them to be trimmed to match your hair length if they are a little bit too long

how do i choose colours for the synthetics?

After you've chosen your base colour you can choose the synthetic dread colours. Look through the colour chart or photos of previous work. You can choose up to 5 colours. Let me know what you've chosen and I'll make a load up for you to choose at the appointment. I will also have spare synthetics if you prefer other ones I have.

what type of hair does it look best on?

Combos look best on longer wispy hair if you plan to mostly wear it down. if you have a lot of weight/bulk at the bottom of your hair (not layered) it looks better with more dreads. All about the cute up-dos and French plait styles then shorter lengths will look cool too.

what styles of synthetics do you have?

Check out the styles available on the colours page. there's braids, ladder braids, fishtail braids, pom-pom braids and dreads. You can be specific about how many you'd like of each, just let me know :)

how many dreads and synthetics should i get?

If you want to dip a toe and are more about the decoration and cute up-dos id recommend 2 rows of dreads underneath with 5-10 synthetics depending on how much volume you want. Remember i use double ended synthetics so you get two ends per dread. if your more about the natural dreads with a bit of flavour added see prices for human hair extensions and add £5 per double ended dread.

how long does my hair need to be?

Hair should be at least shoulder length for partial dreads e.g. quarter heads. For full heads at least 6 inches so the extensions have enough hair to keep them stable.
